Not as good as I thought it would be

Had planned out a lot of things/announcements and songs. When the lte night snacks came out there was not an announcement. A special song was suppose to play and have an announcement with it which it didn’t. As bride and groom were coming in guests were suppose to spin their napkins around in the air, there wasn’t an announcement for that. Guest asked to play a song and as he walked away the dj gave a face and said no I asked him and there was some tension about it and he played it but it wasn’t an upbeat song like requested. I also wanted a special song to play for myself that was on my playlist , that wasn’t played. I dont believe he made an announcement to go outside for sparklers at the end of the night. I was surprised as we spent some time together and the reviews were good and I did hear good things. But it was still a great wedding and people enjoyed it

Really great DJ! Fun transitions, easy to work with, organized, found the exact music we wanted, played the songs we wanted plus added fun songs that went with the energy and vibe!

We had such a phenomenal time, all thanks to Jordan! He was incredibly attentive all throughout the planning process and helped ensure that the big day went off without any issues. While we provided input on music selection (must play, like to play, and dont ever play), he knew exactly how to read a room and expertly navigated us through the evening. If I could do it over, I wouldnt change a thing. He is amazing and I cannot recommend him enough!

I really don’t even know where to start. We have not stopped receiving messages from friends and family about how much of a blast they had. Jordan was absolutely incredible, his demo meetings were some of the most helpful we had throughout this season whole process, his online portal was such a great tool to have while planning. One of the best decisions we made throughout this whole process, our wedding was a blast. One thing he will definitely make sure of is that your wedding truly feels like yours. The process was so individualized to you, and it will never feel like it’s anybody else’s day but yours. Do yourselves a favor and book Maryland’s DJ, you will not regret it!

Fantastic DJ!!

Jordan was everything we could have wanted for our wedding DJ, and more. From the very beginning of the demo process with Jordan, through using the online planner, and working directly with Jordan, everything was easy, laid back, and smooth. He listened to the vibe we wanted and played all the songs we requested, expertly mashing up with different crowd pleasers with seamless transitions. He did an unbelievable job of keeping everyone out on the dance floor and everyone had the best time! Jordan casually checked in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was good and running on schedule, to see if we had requests, and to make sure that we were ready for things like speeches, parents dances, etc. Jordan did uplighting too, which was beautiful and the exact color we requested! Our guests couldn’t stop commenting even days after the wedding at how great the DJ was and how much fun they had. If we ever need a DJ for a future party, it will have to be Jordan.

Maryland DJs and in particular Brian Doane did an amazing job at our wedding. He had our family and friends, both young and old, on the dance floor the entire night. They were responsive and had a great online system to keep track of songs we liked and didn't like and they accepted on the fly requests well. They really helped to create a great ambiance at our wedding and I would highly recommend them to other couples.

Just So Awesome

I was recommended by a friend to work with Maryland's DJ and that is about as much thought I put into it praying for an easy experience, and they absolutely CRUSHED IT. We had to postpone a year due to COVID-19, we wanted it to be a big party for everyone the whole time, and we were having a mixed marriage so we were worried different music tastes might make our "big party" goal complicated. Immediately had no worries on our wedding as everyone was vibing the whole night! Brian was our DJ and he knew the perfect moments to mix songs. We listed a couple songs to play, but Brian got the gist of what we wanted and it was a just a blast. There was never a wasted moment and never a feeling that a song had been cut short either. College friends, my parents friends, cousins, and my 90+ grandmother all felt the same way. It was not easy to entertain so many so long, but just an awesome feeling when it happens. We opted for the photo booth that sent photos directly to your phone which was such a cool thing to have, and we also go uplighting to add a little more atmosphere to our venue and dance floor. Lastly, my wife and I STILL were deciding on some songs two days out (!!!) and never once felt pressured into making choices, and were assured that everything would be great, and then we lived happily ever after. Thank you Jordan and Brian for making our big day even bigger.

DJ Steve and Maryland’s DJ were absolutely incredible to work with and did an amazing job at our wedding. Steve was able to accommodate so many last minute changes and helped ease my nerves throughout every step of the planning process. He absolutely killed wedding day and we received so many compliments on the music at the wedding! 10/10 recommend Maryland’s DJ for any occasion!

Great Service and Teamwork!

We highly recommend DJ Steve! He made the perfect blend of music, with the different genres he gave us. He read the room the right way and everyone we talked with had a wonderful time. We had a moment where we needed to switch into two different genres and DJ Steve did it flawlessly.

Absolutely Perfect

Harvey was amazing! 10/10. He was extremely prepared and could read the vibe of the event. We had a long playlist with many songs that were slow, so he played some of the slower songs during dinner and saved the more upbeat songs for dancing. He also respected our wishes about a quiet exit, which worked out because we needed to leave 15 minutes early. And I heard from guests that he kept the party going! Maryland DJ's—especially Jordan and John Carmichael—were absolutely incredible to work with for my daughter’s Sweet 16! From my very first call with Jordan to go over the event and pricing, to the planning process with our DJ, John Carmichael, and the rest of the team who helped with add‑ons, photo booth prints, and social media, everything was seamless. They made the entire experience so easy. A DJ can truly make or break an event, and ours was amazing because of the DJ. John was out on the dance floor with the kids almost the entire night, keeping the energy high. The uplighting was the perfect touch, and the photo booth was a huge hit. I can’t recommend Maryland DJ's enough—hire them for your next party! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!

Great music and very easy to work with

We had a great experience with Maryland's DJ for our wedding last June! When we first began researching our wedding DJ, we found it easy to set up appointments to speak with Jordan, who did a great job explaining the services they offer and matching us with our DJ Steve. During the planning stage, it was fun and easy to work on our song requests and timeline through the online portal, and in our zoom meeting with Steve, his expertise made us feel confident that he would be able to create the experience we wanted for our wedding day. Mike Q DJ-ed our wedding and did a fantastic job. He was flexible and worked with us on last-minute changes with outstanding professionalism. We had a variety of song choices, and he mixed them expertly. Whenever he played a deep cut that our friends enjoyed, he followed it up with a crowdpleaser to keep everyone on the dance floor. We also told him a "passcode" required to make song requests, and he announced that to the reception guests. We didn't intend that, but it actually made for a fun game. Our guests were interested in the passcode idea and thus made thoughtful song requests throughout the night. I'd recommend Mike Q to any couple looking for a high-energy reception.

Packed dance floor

We had DJ mike Q and he was awesome! The dance floor was packed all night long. People are still talking about how much fun they had! We also got the photo booth and everyone really enjoyed it and everything was digitally sent to your phone!

Jordan and the team have been super flexible and helpful during the craziness of COVID rescheduling our big event. They have been super responsive as we have reached out with questions. Aside from everything going on at the moment, they make planning the music and getting to know what we will want to hear at our wedding so easy with the technology available to customers. I had no idea anything like this existed, book them now!

No one wanted the wedding to end!

We honestly could not imagine our wedding dance floor being any better. People were (not even kidding) begging the DJ to keep playing songs as the venue told us we had to go! The music and the energy was that good!! Can't recommend Steve enough and he'll keep everyone, from your college friends to your grandma to your cousin's toddler, on their feet and having a great time.

Wow, Where do I even begin. Look no further, Maryland's DJ is the best in the business and hiring them will be one of the best decisions you could ever make for your wedding day. We scheduled our wedding date around Jordan's availability, because our wedding day wouldn't be the same without the #1 DJ. Jordan will not only play the tunes for your day, but he will become your friend, step in on day of duties, make sure everything runs smoothly and organized, sweep any wedding day stress away, keep your drinks full, and of course the dance floor packed. As our wedding night was coming to a close and the bus was ready to take the first trip back to the hotel, but our guests literally refused because the dance floor was too much fun!!! I wish I had counted the number of guests who came up to us stating it was the "best wedding they had ever attended". Investing in Maryland's DJ is investing in a relaxed, and fun filled wedding day that you (and all of your guests) will never want to end!

Working with Maryland's DJ was such a pleasure. We hired them to do both our ceremony and reception. They provided great service in the lead up to our event with planning services, playlist building and even a demo! Steve was our DJ for our event and we couldn't be happier. Our wedding was a success!

Ebi was our DJ for a wedding and he did an amazing job! We hired this company at the last minute and they made the whole process very smooth. Love the online portal for selecting songs as well. We had an amazing day!

Brian was extremely professional and was responsive to all of our wants and requests, im sure if we asked he'd have grabbed us a drink xD He always double checked before we moved on to each and every step of our wedding. Unfortunately I'm going to be extremely biased in my review, as Steve is a personal friend of mine in the Baltimore DJ scene. He did an absolutely amazing job, especially considering I didn't even touch the portal or log in once (sorry!) but provided him with a run of show and song selection a few days before. He was super easygoing the day of, especially considering I'm a DJ myself and had a lot of in-the-moment requests/updates to the run of show- he did great and went with the flow! I had my brothers singing our first dance song live, and plugging them in with mics and 1/4 inch jacks for their instruments was no sweat for Steve! He went off-list when it mattered to keep the dance floor alive, and I don't think there was a moment when it died at ALL (and again, as a DJ myself that's the most important part!) Everyone has told me it was the most fun reception they've ever been to- and I know that's because of the music- so A+ for Steve, give him a raise, a promotion- everything! :)

Marylands DJ were great to work with, especially our DJ, DJ Mike Q! We loved the process and portal that Marylands DJ provided. It was easy to select the songs we wanted. DJ Mike Q was responsive throughout the months leading up to the wedding and we had a final walkthrough a few weeks prior where we talked through more of the details. On the day of, DJ Mike Q kept everything running smoothly and was flexible, changing things where needed and working with our coordinator to switch up the timeline based on how the event was going. We're very happy we selected Maryland's DJ for our wedding!

Had a culturally mixed wedding (Hispanic and American) and Brian did AMAZING! the music had everyone up and dancing at all times.

DJ Brian from Maryland DJ was great! He didn’t overly MC like a bat mitzvah/sweet 16 DJ would and let the music do its thing. He had awesome transitions and was really flexible with the weather moving the wedding inside and starting later than anticipated. He also did an amazing job finding our exact cover / acoustic songs that we wanted for the processional. We loved Maryland DJ and would recommend them to anyone!

Trust Jordan as your Wedding DJ

Jordan was very helpful in the flow of the wedding and had shed great energy on the party. His timing was impeccable, he knew when to be there, when to keep a song going and when to not. He had all the tech including alter mics for the alter and speakers, not to mention the uplighting to set the mood. Can't say enough about the professionalism. Book him if you can!

We had an amazing wedding, and so happy to have used Maryland DJs. We worked with Jordan! He kept us up to date, answered all our questions, and made our night so much fun. He helped keep songs private till the day of for a full surprise, and pronounced all our family’s names correctly! We would totally use them for another event and fully recommend for any wedding. Jordan is the best DJ ever! Obviously because he DJed our wedding but I have yet to see one better at other weddings we have gone to! I even had a friend say they wish they had him. I only hope he will get to DJ another wedding that we go to.

Jordan did an amazing job of personalizing the entire wedding experience for us! He took the time to go through songs that were a must play, play if we had time or the vibe was right, and songs that were absolutely do not play! DJ Steve from Maryland’s DJ provided music and lights for our event and was incredible! The lighting was perfect for the venue and really brought our vision to life. The music was on point all evening, and we really appreciated how willing Steve was to make announcements on the fly and to just go find out answers to questions so we didn’t have to stress. The guests had a great time dancing and so did we! We 100% recommend Steve and Maryland’s DJ for your wedding or other event!

We used Maryland’s DJ for our wedding and they were incredible! Our DJ Steve Hartka was so nice and easy to work with, and they have an online portal which makes music selections super easy! We wanted our dance floor packed all night and Steve made that happen! Song selection was perfect, he played all of our requests, and our meetings with him before the wedding day really put us at ease. Jordan met us back in December of 2019 and stuck with us through it all! He is fun, responsive, reliable and so easy to work with. Our goal when selecting vendors was to make sure we felt 100% comfortable with them so that we could be ourselves - as soon as we met Jordan, we knew that would be the case. Maryland's DJ was a fabulous vendor to work with. They always communicated with us in a professional manner and were very responsive. Steve really got to know John and I as a couple and our music likes and dislikes. We had to reschedule our wedding date due to the pandemic and they were extremely flexible. Maryland's DJ was professional and reliable, and super responsive to emails. We worked with Alex who was awesome! It was super easy-we made a playlist on Spotify of the type of songs we wanted and he went with it. Our dance floor was so fun and was exactly what we had envisioned. Would definitely recommend them for a DJ!

Talented, Fun, and Full Effort!

Truly the BEST! Steve was incredible! He worked with us to make an epic dance list that kept our guests dancing all night (including bride's favorite's like Ultimate from Freaky Friday, Miracles Happen from Princess Diaries!, and Year 3000!) - every DCOM child's dreams! He was able to read the dance floor and adjust accordingly - giving all his efforts and talents - not just picking a list a running with it! It was a blast! He even came to our after-party and chowed down on pizza with us! A fun guy all around and planning to attend his many other events around Baltimore!

The entire Marylands DJ team was kind and professional, and their whole process was very streamlined and detail-oriented! Their forms and online platform made it easy to plan music selections and figure out timelines. We had a micro wedding of about 40 guests, and our DJ Mike was awesome... he was able to identify our tastes in music and catered playlists to them. He was able to find this awesome balance of keeping the party going but not going "overboard" since it was a smaller wedding. I would highly recommend Marylands DJ!!!

Maryland's DJ absolutely nailed our wedding, no other way to describe it.  DJ Mebaa stepped in to DJ our ceremony and reception as a last minute change in plans; my wife and I felt supported and in good hands the whole time as a result of Maryland's DJ's planning and attention to detail. Mebaa, with only a few days notice, played all ceremony songs perfectly, timing choruses/special parts of songs perfectly with the arrival of the wedding party/the bride as they walked down the aisle. The reception was an all out blast - Mebaa read the room perfectly, following one banger with another and keeping jaws dropped the whole night with great songs.  He also surprised my wife and I with a special last song dance to a song that we adored. I would highly recommend Maryland's DJ, and Mebaa specifically.  They made our special day the best it possibly could be, and know how to please their clients, no matter what circumstances arise.  Aside from my wife and I, we had almost everyone we interacted with on the dance floor comment on how good the DJ music and service was - we are so glad we went with DJ over live band!

Amazing company

Can't say enough good things about this company. We had so many special requests and questions and Maryland's DJ was always available ! Out of all our vendors, Maryland's DJ was by far the most professional and supportive during the planning process and our big day. Ryan was personable and felt more like a guest than a DJ! Thank you so much Ryan for all the help and making our day that much more special!

We booked several things with Jordan. Uplighting, floor lights, a photobooth and, of course, the DJ. He worked perfectly with our venue (Ritz Carlton-Tysons) in getting the mood set, the fun started and had nothing but compliments from every one of our guests about the consistently good music. Everyone loved the photo booth and we got a copy of everything after, so we could enjoy those moments we missed. Highly recommend. Oh, he also was able to get us a last minute drapes guy to help line the ballroom!

Steve did a great job emceeing our night and keeping the tunes going. His song transitions are on point, and he was so easy to work with to put our preferred music choices together. All around nice guy. Highly recommend.

Steve was an amazing DJ!! We had so many compliments afterward telling us how much fun everyone had and how the DJ was perfect! Once the music started- so did the dancing and that never stopped. I am biased since it was my wedding but I haven't been to another wedding where the dance floor was packed the whole entire time! Steve listened to all of our needs and made sure the music line-up was flawless!

We loved Neil, Josh, and the lighting. Everything was perfect. They were all super professional and got there early. Neil was outstanding. We appreciate all of the prep work he did- everything was flawless. From the processional music to the dance floor music, Neil made the party and wedding exceptional. I would refer him to everyone! The saxophone player really brought the party. Hope to use Marylands DJ and Neil again some time in the future!

This. Team. Right. Here. So blown away. Our guests were dancing THE ENTIRE NIGHT! Announcements were on point, they weren’t cheesy, music was awesome, and the photo booth was so unique. I can't give a high enough recommendation for Maryland's DJ! From the moment we contacted them, we were celebrated, collaborated with, and listened to. When we said we wanted a wedding to remember, they matched us with DJ Ryan Walburn who BLEW AWAY our expectations! Not a soul left that dance floor for 3 STRAIGHT HOURS, and his music during dinner and emceeing went above and beyond. The portal is super simple to use, you get to personalize your day, and get frequent check-ins with your DJ, and their rates are affordable. Our guests haven't stopped raving and neither will we!

Marylands DJ, and DJ Brian brought the energy for our wedding we were so happy to have them and have plenty of great mixes with all of the music that we picked. From the beginning Marylands DJ were professional and extremely helpful in our process. We were shown a great and informative presentation about their offerings, and Jordan walked us through the entire contract from beginning to end to make sure we had no issues! They had plenty of follow up emails and even incorporated some Polish music, as my wife is Polish-American, and made sure the crowd was always partying! Couldn’t be happier with Marylands DJ, and DJ Brian!! Thank you again!!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Steve from Maryland's DJ for our wedding. Steve was great to work with from the get-go: he was communicative, responsive, and super easy to get along with. Our music taste is very particular and Steve really "got" us. He even offered to spin vinyl at our party, which we were super excited about. On the day of the event, Steve was not only professional but also made our small (covid-sized) party a blast. His music choice and timing was perfect and he kept the party going until the end of the night. Many of our friends commented that this was the best wedding music they've ever heard. Jordan and his exceptional team truly go above and beyond from start to finish! During our pre-wedding zoom meetings, Jordan walked us through the entire process answering any and all questions that we had. The online portal was very easy to use and helpful, and most importantly Jordan was so accommodating to all of our little and last minute changes leading up to the wedding. I have never been to a wedding before where people were dancing the entire night start to finish, and am in awe that it happened at ours! Jordan is such an incredible MC, making sure guests of all ages were engaged and moving the whole night. His contagious and fun energy set the tone for the night, the people did not stop having fun! His flow and announcing was perfect, seamlessly transitioning all parts of the wedding. PRO-TIP: Get the photo booth! It was an absolute hit and there was a line to take pictures the entire night. Guests loved how the pictures were instantly sent to their phones and best of all you will get sent a copy of every picture taken to help relieve your special night! When we first met with Jordan he spent a lot of time with us to help get to know us and what we were looking for, for our wedding. He then did a demo for us, and we were sold. The day of the wedding made me even more happy to have booked Jordan. Not only did Jordan get our reception started, he kept it going all night long. Our guests were literally on the dance floor the entire night long and having a blast! Throughout the reception Jordan checked on us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay and see if we needed anything. We got married September 21, 2019 and we will always remember the 21st night of September because of our amazing DJ, Brian! Brian was amazing to work with on our wedding day and the many months leading up to the wedding. He asked for a timeline months in advance so we could pick the perfect song for each moment of the ceremony and reception. He even gave us suggestions when we were unsure of what song to play when we were being introduced as husband and wife, and even offered to remix a few songs for us. Our family and friends are still talking about how much fun our wedding was and it is largely due to the music and lively atmosphere Brian created. We cannot thank him enough and will recommend him to anyone we talk to. This dude knows music and knows how to turn a party into a PARTAY!

Amazing experience

Our DJ was Neil and we couldn't have had a greater time with him. Somehow, he was able to balance my love for 80s music with my wife's modern pop. Needless to say, the music for the night was amazing. Neil was also a consummate professional when it came to coordinating all of the music and announcements according to our wedding timeline. In addition, the photobooth and uplighting raised the experience to a whole other level. Overall we had an awesome time working with Maryland's DJ and Neil specifically and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We had a great experience working with Maryland's DJ! Brian (our DJ) and Chris (on saxophone) were an absolute dream team. From the planning stages to the big day, they were professional, responsive, and easy to work with. We had 125 guests and the dance floor was packed ALL night. I could not recommend DJ Scott more!

My husband and I cannot recommend Maryland's DJ enough. Based on our preferences, we were paired with DJ Steve. We have been impressed with him since day 1. Having never planned a wedding before, my husband and I did not know the process. However, Steve walked us through everything. He was organized, clear, easily accessible, and had the crowd dancing all night. The company has a lot of prep documents which helped ups plan for the flow of the night and really consider what we wanted for our evening -- this helped so much. Would rehire again and highly recommend to others!

Steve H. & everyone at Maryland's DJ was an absolute pleasure and incredible to work with. Steve really took his time to understand the aesthetic and mood we wanted to capture for our wedding day. The photo booth they offered was completely worth it! These were the first photos we got back and we love looking at them! At the end of the night my wedding guests were chanting for an encore. Additional, one of my family members contacted MD DJ to secretly purchase dancing on a cloud for us. MD DJ really delivered to make our night magical!

22/10 recommend Maryland's DJ!! We worked with DJ John and MC Laz for our wedding and I cannot stress this enough when I say those two knocked it out of the park. They worked with us to make the planning very simple and straight forward. They were super helpful with recommendations for prelude and cocktail hour music. The planning portal was super easy and fun to put together our dream wedding playlist. From the prelude music all the way until the very last song of the night, Laz and John worked with us to execute our vision flawlessly. Now whenever I hear of anyone holding a wedding or event that calls for a DJ, without hesitation I will always recommend, Maryland's DJ! DJ Brian was amazing. About a month before the third planned wedding was to take place, we found ourselves without music for the day. A friend of a friend has worked with Jordan, recommended him, and within 20 minutes, we had a scheduled phone call to work with our unique wedding day. Not only were Jordan and Brian professional and amiable, but they were incredibly flexible with the insanity (& forgetfulness!) of this exhausted bride. Finally, DJ Brian found an indescribable way to play a beautiful blend of Egyptian & country music... I never would have imagined that’s possible! I couldn’t say enough good things about Maryland’s DJ. The entire process was simple. The first thing we did was a phone call with Jordan who was super sweet and really listened to what we wanted. I had known DJ Ryan Carr previously and found that he worked with Maryland’s DJ so I had asked if we could request him. Thankfully he was available and then a second call was set up for us to meet with the DJ and get a little more specific as to what we wanted. They also provide a website that you fill out timeline forms and music playlists at your pace. The website was really cool because we got to organize songs in categories such as must play, please try to play and absolutely do not play. This really helped solidify what vibes we wanted. Personally we picked maybe a total of 10 songs for this entire playlist as we wanted the DJ to do his thing. Come the wedding, DJ Ryan C and MC Rob were amazing! All of our family was dancing at some point and loved the energy they both brought. The MC was on the dance floor dancing with my cousins and really made the event such a good time. We also rented their photo booth which was an awesome addition. Everyone in the family loved this, including grandmoms! There is no doubt in my mind that I would book with them again for any event!

The Maryland’s DJ was a great experience throughout the entire process, from beginning to finish. They were very flexible in this current environment as the time change for the wedding, and they were very accommodating. They provide great music and the sound throughout the wedding, coordinating with the venue with minimal questions for the wedding party as they went over the questions prior to the day of the event. Amazing and very reliable!

DJ Steve Hartka DJ'ed our wedding a few weeks back, and he did an amazing job! He kept the party going all night, and had everyone up and dancing from start to finish. He fit the exact mood we were going for in the reception and also made sure that all went off without a hitch during the ceremony. Meetings with him leading up to the big day were always upbeat and positive and we felt from the start that we could count on him to do an amazing job, which he did! The very organized portal system was great, and we felt that we could have a good mix of having control of the must-play songs while also trusting him to fill in the rest of the soundtrack. Forever grateful for all you did to make our day even more special, Steve!!
