We hired Steve to provide music and entertainment for our reception and ensuing dance party. I would say that working with Steve, and his performance at the reception, was the absolute highlight of our entire wedding. From our first conversation, I could tell that Steve was fully on board with our plan to have a progressive/electro house dance party. We provided some songs as inspiration, and he gave us a live demo at his office, demonstrating his mixing style as well as other songs he’d found to match our taste. He accommodated my mom’s insistence on using a medley of Prince songs for the mother/son dance, and he transitioned from that into his DJ set absolutely flawlessly. I will never forget standing in the middle of the dance floor with my now-wife, surrounded by our friends, as the final guitar solo of “Let’s Go Crazy” played out, ending with Steve announcing “Your dance floor is now open!”, immediately followed by the drop of “Feel So Close” (Calvin Harris). People went nuts and it was awesome. Additionally, Steve is just an all around fun guy to talk to and work with. He gets my highest recommendation.

Great vibe

Jordan was amazing. Got the exact vibe we were going for in Our wedding and reception. Whole family was on the dance floor most of the night. Also the process of picking songs and uploading guest requests was really easy.

We would love to say the service was a 10! Everyone enjoyed the night and everything went smoothly. The music worked for every age range and so happy we chose you guys as our DJ, it was a fantastic night. Thank you! The uplighting I need that in my house!

Best Day Ever! What Jordan did for our wedding day is speechless! From day one he gave us the feeling that he was dedicated to making our day the best day we could ever imagine. It was crazy how after a simple 5 minute phone call he was able put together a demo session that had us geeked for our special day! Jordan is more than just a DJ, he helped us find the best photographer a couple could ask for, he added touches to our wedding we never would have thought of on our own, he brought a large group of people from all over the world to one dance floor for what felt like the best dance party ever. Awesome Time with Maryland’s DJ!

Jordan was awesome! He is extremely experienced and it came through in our wedding! He read the crowd perfectly and got everyone dancing, even those that don’t normally dance. His website and process for making song recommendations prior to the wedding is seamless - with just a few recommendations from us as well as crowd sourced requests from our guests, Jordan created a playlist that was spot on from the cocktail hour through the reception. He helped make the day run smoothly and provided a lot of great advice leading up to the day. He was so proactive, fun and friendly with us during the wedding; we had guests asking if we knew him beforehand. We will be listening to the Spotify playlist he created for us for heart to come! Thank you Jordan!!

Maryland's DJ was a fabulous vendor to work with. They always communicated with us in a professional manner and were very responsive. Steve really got to know John and I as a couple and our music likes and dislikes. We had to reschedule our wedding date due to the pandemic and they were extremely flexible. Incredible Experience

Jordan did an incredible job for my daughter’s and son-in-law’s wedding on New Year’s Eve, 2021. He was not the original DJ booked from his company, but filled in on an emergency basis and was the most professional and fun DJ we have ever had the pleasure to work with. He also brought the photo booth and up lighting and everything was done in the most proficient way. He never stopped the music and took us all the way to a countdown at midnight and beyond. He worked so well with all of the other vendors which made the reception seamless. I would highly recommend Jordan and his company for any event.

Maryland's DJ was so great to work with--very responsive and thorough in answering all of our initial questions. We especially loved that we could include a photobooth and uplighting with our entertainment package! And we'll add to the chorus of rave reviews for DJ Mike Q! He kept the dance floor PACKED and truly everyone had a great time--from our millenial friends all the way up to our 90 year old grandparents! Mike incorporated all of our requests, both songs and different special dances. He even communicated with us about a couple of plan changes we wanted to make just that day, and made it all run seamlessly. It was such a perfect, celebratory, and very "us" dance party! This company was fantastic from day one, they set up a couple different virtual meetings with my wife and I and we just got a great feeling from them from the start. They are great people to work with. After hearing our music taste, they set us up with DJ Steve Hartka for our wedding and he was AMAZING. We got to make a list of "must play" songs, as well as "do NOT play" songs, and Steve took our music vibes and applied it to the rest of his playlist. We added the photo booth which was a huge hit with us and with the guests. These DJs know how to read the room and play the type of music that will get guests on the dance floor and stay on the dance floor. Thank you for a great event!

The entire Marylands DJ team was kind and professional, and their whole process was very streamlined and detail-oriented! Their forms and online platform made it easy to plan music selections and figure out timelines. We had a micro wedding of about 40 guests, and our DJ Mike was awesome... he was able to identify our tastes in music and catered playlists to them. He was able to find this awesome balance of keeping the party going but not going "overboard" since it was a smaller wedding. I would highly recommend Marylands DJ!!!

My sole goal in finding the perfect DJ was someone who was open to ideas but had experienced suggestions to make the perfect day. From the very start, Jordan guided us in the right direction. Jordan took care of every aspect of entertainment for our big day and made it so that I didn't have to worry about a single thing! Best Party Ever!!

Choosing Maryland’s DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. Between the multiple conversations and the easy-to-navigate online portal, we were able to communicate with Steven (our DJ) exactly what we wanted our day to look like, and he made our dreams come true! We used Maryland’s DJ for our 150-person black tie optional wedding in Washington DC. Services included music (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception), photo booth, and uplights. Everything was flawless. Jordan was our DJ and he was an absolute pro. Music done well has the power to make life feel like a movie and create epic moments and memories. That’s what Jordan delivered for us. Cannot recommend him enough. The photo booth was a huge hit. Totally customizable and looked great.

Kept everyone dancing

This DJ was one of our best choices. He kept everyone dancing all night. They were so organized and did great with our introductions, toasts, and first dances. I’ve already recommended them to many and it’s only been a week since our wedding! We also used them for the photo booth as well which all the guests loved. Only thing is that not all the guests received their photos and those who did received a link that said they were from a holiday party and not our wedding. But booking this DJ for your next event will be your best decision!!

DJ Ayo was so great at our highschool homecoming! He really brought the energy and even worked in a student performance which our kids really appreciated! Brilliant DJ, super professional, and incredibly talented. We also thank him for being able to accommodate us on such short notice!!!

Last-minute decision was the right one!

Maryland's DJ was a last-minute addition to our 50th birthday party and we are very glad we hired them! We had a lot of fun with the online song selection portal: we we able to choose 25 "must-play" songs, 25 additional requests, and up to 10 on a do-not-play list. The portal also had a place to put the projected schedule - cocktail hour, dancing, cake, etc. Ebi was great, very professional. For example, he chose just the right songs for before and after the cake.

DJ Harvey was an excellent DJ for our wedding and had the dance floor going all night! He was super reliable and really proactive in the planning stages of the wedding so we knew we were in safe hands. Right balance of flexible with our requests but skilled in picking the right music and mixes for the right time to keep party going. Would highly recommend DJ Harvey to anyone planning a wedding.

Absolute Professionalism

This review is for Steve with Maryland’s DJ. Steve was our wedding DJ for an event at the Chesapeake Bay and has our highest recommendation due to his profound professionalism. Steve was extremely personable and communicative throughout the entire process and provided his skills to accommodate special requests for song edits and musical queues during ceremony events. He was exceedingly knowledgeable on all aspects of audio engineering, noise considerations and acoustics for outdoor events, and venue-specific accommodations as he had frequented our selected location. The music selection system was an easy to use, web based application that streamlined the song selection process and provided valuable insight into music considerations, meeting time constraints, and accounting for key wedding objectives. We highly recommend Maryland’s DJ for other wedding events to any interested parties.

Steve Rocks!

Working with Maryland’s DJ was a breeze from the start. Jordan was very informative and laid out all the information for us from our first initial call. We also had a Zoom meeting with Jordan and our DJ for the wedding - Steve, who also helped answer more questions. The portal they use is also convenient and helped us really think about all the details and music we wanted for our wedding, and it was relatively easy to use. Steve also checked back with us a few weeks before the wedding and we ran through everything with him, helping us feel more comfortable. On the day of the wedding, Steve and his assistant ran the wedding and worked with my other vendors to keep the day moving and things on time. He played great music and kept the dance floor packed and I could not have had a better experience! I highly recommend Maryland’s DJ!!

When my spouse and I were looking into wedding DJs, we were not sure what to expect. We were investing money into what we hoped would be a good time. The moment we met the folks at Maryland's DJ, we knew we had found the right place. They were friendly, attentive, and professional, matching us with the perfect DJ based on our preferences. Awesome DJ experience from beginning to end. When considering all the different vendors for our wedding, we knew to have a great DJ was essential to us. We inquired with quite a few but when we met Jordan, the decision was easy. The entire process was smooth and made us less stressed for our big day. We loved the demo provided before we signed the contract as well as the online portal that made it easy to provide our preferences. Jordan provided great input to help us decide which songs we wanted and when. He helped us figure out the entire flow of the wedding. We also got our lighting from Jordan and it looked great and we were able to see the color and options ahead of time. And of course, probably most important, the day of the wedding everything was amazing. All of the guests were out on the dance floor and had a fantastic time. Can't say enough great things about our experience!

Absolutely Amazing

This was my first experience with a DJ service and it was fantastic. Mebaa and his team engaged the crowd, had everything including lighting well prepared before our arrival. He was not pushy he offered suggestions which made things flow better that I could have thought. We used their photo booth which the crowd LOVED. Everything was beyond my expectations. Completely professional and stayed in touch planning the event so nothing was left out. They kept the crowd dancing and enjoying themselves. I could not be more pleased.

A most excellent experience...

To start, Maryland's DJ is the absolute best. Very friendly and responsive. Jordan does a great job of matching couples to the perfect DJ. DJ Steve Hartka was a perfect fit for our wedding. From start to finish, Steve was very responsive and helpful. My wife and I requested that our first song be edited to add an instrumental portion, he kindly provided several edits which made our first dance a dream. All of our wedding guests have continued to comment on Steve's awesomeness. Steve was very friendly and accommodating with song requests from my newly minted niece. We can’t thank Ryan and the team at Mixing Maryland enough for their generous offer to donate their services for BARCS’ new gala event “Dog Wedding.” When we were connected with Mixing Maryland we thought “Oh, nice. Looks like they have a great reputation and will add class to our event,” but little did we know how much more than music this company would bring to our event. All night I continued to call Ryan our ‘Master of Ceremonies,’ as he kept the schedule on track, made announcements, dismissed tables for food and, on top of all that, picked the perfect playlist. Since our event was a fundraiser gala, disguised as a marriage of two dogs, we weren’t really sure if our guests would flood to the dancefloor like you would at a wedding with all your friends and family. Well, Ryan and his team did a great job surveying the room and creating the perfect playlist, because then the first song came on, the floor was packed. And, they kept that floor packed for the rest of the night. I’d also like to thank Mixing Maryland for going above and beyond to promote our event and even do a fundraiser on their own social media accounts to benefit the event. A huge, huge, huge thank you from all of us at BARCS for being an instrumental part of our Dog Wedding fundraiser. I can honestly say that I will be recommending Mixing Maryland to anyone looking to add music, dancing and crowd participation to their event.

This was clearly not his first rodeo

Jordan was OUTSTANDING! He has a personality and energy that describes a DJ. He was super helpful recommending songs for us and his online portal was super easy to use. He was very easy going and let us make changes up to literally the last second. We gave him very little direction and he was able to read the vibe of our crowd at our wedding and match the music perfectly!

We were affected big-time by the pandemic. Not only did Steve and his team work with us on finding a new date. But we didn’t lose any money whatsoever. Then when the new date finally came we had an amazing time, nobody left the dance floor the entire night. Not to mention the Photo Booth was pretty amazing. Hopefully we get a chance or opportunity to use them again, can’t speak highly enough of these guys.

DJ Steve provided excellent service at our wedding recently. It started out a bit rocky when our classical guitarist didn't show in time for the ceremony... Fortunately, Steve and our wedding planner improvised and get the appropriate music queued-up in time for us to walk down the aisle (phew!). Steve also honored our wishes by playing many of the songs we requested through our planner. Despite us not having a chance to coordinate directly beforehand, he did a solid job choosing when to play each song (dinner, reception, etc.). Several guests requested his business card that night. Highly recommended.

We hired DJ Harvey from Maryland's DJ for our Wedding May 2026 and we were really impressed. Everyone was really responsive. Harvey was easy to stay in touch with ahead of the wedding, and then the day of he was on top of everything and was a great DJ. Kept the dance floor alive and really understood the vibe. The best wedding dj

Brian Doane was our DJ for our November wedding at Chesapeake Bay Foundation. In my opinion this venue can be one of the more difficult ones to navigate for music because there are many location possibilities for the ceremony to take place. Brian was so easy going and awesome to work with from start to finish. We had some music requests but he did a great job feeling out the crowd and kept the party moving all night! I don’t think our dance floor was empty the whole reception! He is a great friend and awesome DJ. I would recommend him for any event!

I am a wedding photographer and worked with DJ Brian Doane for a wedding last weekend and was very impressed. Not only with his professionalism but with how he made all the guests feel along with myself! As a Dj, it’s so important to have a good personality who is outgoing and gets the crowd excited. Without a good Dj, receptions aren’t a good time and this was definitely a GREAT time! Brian was super easy to work with and we made sure to keep each other prepared as they day unfolded! It’s one thing to read reviews from clients, but it’s another thing reading reviews from vendors as we see work with ALOT of different vendors and know who does a good job and who doesn’t with everything on the backend that a lot of brides and grooms don’t see. Maryland's DJ - Emaculate Vibes

Maryland's DJ and DJ Mike Q were the ABSOLUTE BEST. I cannot recommend them enough. My husband and I are tough music critics and insisted on a very specific music vibe for our wedding and DJ Mike absolutely nailed it. They brought energy, visuals, and of course big sounds. We were lit, our guests were lit, it was exactly what we wanted.

We would rate their service a 10- best money we spent on our wedding! our DJ Laz worked the room and kept everyone hyped and engaged throughout our wedding! We were pleasantly surprised by his personalized entertainment and ability to exceed our wishes!

Maryland DJ did a great job at our wedding and everything we arranged with them worked perfectly. We wanted to have a DJ that would be able to effectively read the crowd and keep the music and dancing going, and they did not disappoint. These guys bring the energy to every wedding! If you want some cheese-ball playing the chicken dance at your wedding, go ahead. But if you want a real DJ that knows how to mix, read the crowd, and conduct your evening with professionalism, you need Maryland's DJ.

The most amazing dj

Jordan is an amazing DJ! Not only was working with him a breeze, it was fun and he was able to accommodate all of our requests! The communication throughout the whole process was great and he did not hesitate to ask for clarifications to ensure our day went perfectly! Our guests were dancing all night and many commented on how smooth the transitions were between songs and how seamlessly the music flowed! I recommend him and his team to EVERYONE!

Brian crushed it 10/10. Based upon the songs we listed, he did a great job curating music for the evening that got people on the dance floor. He was great and one of the team members got an awesome video that was emailed to us after the wedding, which was so kind and I'm so glad we have that memory to relive!! Definitely recommend.

Steve H. & everyone at Maryland DJ was an absolute pleasure and incredible to work with. Steve really took his time to understand the aesthetic and mood we wanted to Capture for our wedding day. The photo booth they offered was completely worth it! These were the first photos we got back and we love looking at them! At the end of the night my wedding guests were chanting for an encore. Additional, one of my family members contacted MD DJ to secretly purchase dancing on a cloud for us. MD DJ really delivered to make our night magical!

Maryland DJ needs to be apart of your vendor team for any party no matter the size! Through this tough year of planning, Jordan has remained supportive, flexible, and always ready to start the party!! We chose to downsize our 2020 wedding and MD DJ worked with us every step of the way to adjust to our schedule. Kept Everyone on the Dance Floor

It’s was the most amazing night and amazing party!! The music and the atmosphere remained unstoppable all night long! We are forever grateful for the memories and the fun that was created. Every one of our guests raved about the music and had the best time!!

After going to multiple weddings with boring, unorganized DJs who played awkward and cringeworthy music, my husband and I knew we wanted better for our wedding. That’s how we found Jordan at Maryland DJ. From our amazing initial meeting, where Jordan mixed our favorite songs into a mini-set list, I knew Jordan was the perfect choice for the fun, energetic wedding we wanted. Our family and friends have not stopped praising Jordan and our wedding’s music: “that was the best wedding music I’ve ever heard” and “every song he played was perfect”. Jordan kept the dance floor packed all night, including my 3 year old cousin and my 70 year old great aunt. He played one amazing song after another, totally embracing our music tastes. Jordan also makes the wedding process as smooth as possible. His portal helps plan your ceremony and reception while giving you plenty of suggestions for “must-play” songs, parent dances, first dance songs, etc… At the wedding, he makes sure the ceremony and reception run smoothly through his promptness, his announcements, and his guest interactions. He isn’t corny or cheesy, but he will make sure everyone gets up dancing! We loved how thoughtful Jordan was through the entire event. He arrived early to the venue and even offered to help my dad and brother set up our chuppah. He checked in with us about 30 minutes before the end of the night to see if there were any last minute songs we still wanted to hear. And, when I put two musical songs on our cocktail hour/dinner playlist, he included some “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hanson” which made the night even more special and personalized. We can never thank Jordan enough for helping make our wedding perfect. If you want the best music and dancing at your wedding, Jordan is the perfect DJ for your event.

Steve was THE BEST DJ a bride could ask for. He was professional and laid back. He seemed to know exactly what my husband and I were looking for in terms of vibe - he was excellent at moving the night along naturally and matching the music with the mood. Steve totally went with the flow- communicating effectively and calmly with other vendors, moved between two booths seamlessly and without prior notice, not to mention he stayed late to keep the party going! I was also extremely impressed with Taylor's communication and coordination. She helped me figure out the logistics and made me feel completely confident that everything was taken care of. Thank you for making such a special occasion extra memorable!

My husband and I used Marylands DJ for our wedding reception and they were wonderful! We were fortunate enough to have Steve Hartka DJ our wedding 2 weeks ago, he was amazing! All of our guests were out on the dance floor the whole night. Steve was great to work with and was very responsive to any questions or suggestions we had.

He was great at moving the night through speeches and cake cutting and then getting people back out on the dance floor. He also played music for our ceremony and it was absolutely beautiful. A Wedding of Changes

We had originally planned to marry in Annapolis on May 1st but COVID19 restrictions for indoor venues and 10 person limits put the brakes on for everything. Four rounds of letters and three date changes later, we finally celebrated our wedding at the Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM) on August 22nd. Flexibility and great service are how I would describe Maryland's DJ. Jordan worked with us the entire time as we navigated multiple date and venue changes. Our DJ, Steve Hartka, was awesome and worked with us in the final weeks before the wedding to make sure our Playlist was perfect and that every detail was covered for the big day. Our guests had an amazing time. The music was perfect and the photobooth was a huge hit. I would highly recommend Marylands DJ for any event!

Maryland's DJ, specifically Jordan, was the BEST DJ we could have ever pictured for our wedding. He was recommended to me by a relative who is also in the wedding business (so she knows her stuff) and he did NOT disappoint. Especially during this unprecedented time of this ongoing pandemic, he made our wedding a priority. He was responsive immediately to any type of correspondence I had with him, went above and beyond to help us plan our music list and ceremony details. My fiancé and I were both always said booking a good dj is one of the most important things when it comes to weddings. Steve was AMAZING. From the very beginning he was so kind and helpful. On the day of the wedding I had not one doubt that he would have the dance floor packed, and that just what he did!

Fun dj with the best photo booth!

Jordan was great for our Halloween wedding! We worked with him for a few hours in the weeks prior to the wedding to get the mood right and his suggestions were always on point! He helped us bring a subtle Halloween vibe to a class affair, which is a strange thing to ask of a DJ! Overall nothing but compliments and helped make our day extra special!

We loved working with Maryland's DJ and DJ Theo! The team made everything easy - we had a walk through to talk about our goals for our reception and were matched with a DJ that they thought could make it happen. And DJ Theo certainly could - he was amazing! We also loved the planning tool they gave us to use for timeline creation, choosing songs, and more. The party was fantastic and we loved how smoothly everything went from micing up the ceremony to creating an awesome atmosphere for our guests during dinner, speeches and of course, the dancing! We were so thrilled the whole night and our only complaint is that it went way too fast. Mike Q is AMAZING! Our wedding was SO fun! His MC skills, not to mention his music choices and playlist, are absolutely perfect! He got to know us and played the perfect music, all of our family wants to steal the playlist now! He kept the dancing going all night, he checked in with us so thoughtfully and coordinated throughout our reception to keep us on track, and he’s the nicest person! He made sure the night was about us, he’s such a professional. Mike Q collaborated with all our vendors and they love him too! He also made the planning process so easy! Hiring Maryland's DJ was the best decision we made. From the beginning, it was easy to use the portal to help us stay organized and we loved being able to make our own playlist. Jamaal was attentive to our needs during our meetings and did a wonderful job on our wedding day! He played all of the songs we wanted and could read the room to know what genre of song to play next. We added dancing on a cloud to our first dance and our guests are still talking about what a spectacular it was. Jesse is an amazing DJ! He was the DJ for our wedding this past weekend and kept the dance floor packed the entire night! Personalized style

Steve at Maryland's DJ was phenomenal. He was very personable and made an effort to get a sense of our expectations before our wedding. The communication before our event went a long way to ease all of my concerns on the day of. When the time for dancing came, the energy level was excellent and the vibe was perfect throughout the night.

We were blessed having Steve as our DJ! It felt like having a friend there who truly cared and put every detail into our special day that we asked for. Extremely professional and talented!

Jordan was amazing during the entire planning process. The in-person demonstration got us excited for our party, and was a wonderful preview of the talent he has! He has been very responsive, and professional. Similar to many others, our wedding was impacted by COVID-19. We cannot thank Jordan enough for making the stressful situation of rescheduling our wedding so much easier. He has been wonderful to work with. Went above and beyond my expectations

Extremely professional and went above and beyond my expectations! I completely trusted them with their choice of music including all of the important songs and they knocked it out of the park! Everyone had a great time and people were dancing the whole night! They never skipped a beat and everything ran smoothly. The extra uplighting and the photo booth topped it off. Any future event, I will definitely be using them again!

Jordan DJ’ed my Dad’s surprise 50th birthday at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge. Jordan was extremely nice and helpful through the whole planning process. He checked in with my Mom and I several times to ensure that all of our questions were answered and that we were ready for the big day. The music was great, the lights were awesome, and Jordan was a fantastic MC through the night. If we have another event that requires a DJ, Jordan will be our first call. Great Dance Experience

DJ Mike Q was able to take a hodge podge assortment of genres and song recommendations and mix them so there was a little bit for everyone. I cant tell you how many weddings we have been to where the same classic songs are played one after the other, but DJ Mike was able to feel the vibe of the crowd and transition without anyone ever leaving the dance floor!

We used Maryland’s DJ for our 150-person black tie optional wedding in Washington DC. Services included music (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception), photo booth, and uplights. Everything was flawless. Jordan was our DJ and he was an absolute pro. Music done well has the power to make life feel like a movie and create epic moments and memories. That’s what Jordan delivered for us. Cannot recommend him enough. The photo booth was a huge hit. Totally customizable and looked great.

Jordan is the man!

Jordan is awesome! He took a lot of time to get to know us and our music preferences. He helped us incorporate Polish traditions and music into our reception and really just got the vibe of our guests. He also dealt with my crazy drunk mother who got pretty demanding about music towards the end of the reception. 😂
